Hello Whoop Team,
I wanted to share a feature idea that could be interesting for both users and sleep research.
Since Whoop already detects REM sleep with good accuracy, one potential feature could be very subtle, optional vibrations during REM sleep. These vibrations would be designed to be gentle enough not to wake the user, but noticeable enough to be incorporated into dreams.
In the lucid dreaming community, such external cues (light, sound, or vibration) are sometimes used to increase the likelihood of becoming aware within a dream. With Whoop’s precise sleep-stage tracking, this could be done more accurately and safely than existing methods.
This feature could be:
-
Fully optional and customizable (intensity, duration, frequency)
-
Limited strictly to REM sleep
-
Framed as an experimental or research-based sleep awareness tool
Beyond lucid dreaming, this could also open interesting insights into dream awareness, sleep quality, and cognitive recovery during REM sleep.
Thank you for continually innovating in the sleep and recovery space. I believe this could be a unique feature that sets Whoop apart even further.
Best regards,
