Whoop’s AI coach is great. it can consume many different facets of our health metrics, diet, strain, even our fitness Goals and it can advice well just like a coach.
However, to me, it’s false advertising to call it a 'fitness coach’. it is more like a ‘fitness advisor’.
The missing feature that would turn it into a coach is if it can take your Goals, your health metrics that it measures, and design a fitness program down to the weight, reps, sets, based on the equipment you have access to (which it is capable of this already), but then actually create or produce workout sessions like an actual strength trainer would. If you hire a real person to be your strength trainer they follow you around the gym and prescribe the exercises and we just follow. Right now whoop will design your routine but then you have to manually enter it into my workouts.
Whoop should make the AI agent have access to MY WORKOUTS in the strength trainer section of the app. Then whoops AI should create a workout plan per prescribed day based on recovery and goals…. and then the user should check off 'the weight and reps and sets’ so whoop can track.
It seems like programmatically this is a very cheap upgrade to whoops software. They already have literally every building block to do this. it’s simply moving Whoop coaches ‘advice’ into an actionably MY WORKOUTS program.
It’s a bit silly this is not a feature as this is the main factor that drives results when you hire an in person trainer.
Whoop is a great product but they seem to have fallen short on the most ‘actionable’ thing that would move Whoop from an advisor to an actual coach.
