Steps not accurate. Calibrate?

The daily steps on my Whoop MG are logging less than half the total steps accumulated with my other step counters. Is there a way to calibrate the Whoop step feature for a more accurate reading?

Hey @kylur,
WHOOP step tracking is optimized for wrist placement, so for the most accurate step count, make sure you wear your WHOOP snugly on your wrist, positioned one finger-width above your wrist bone with no visible green LEDs. WHOOP uses advanced sensors and machine learning to detect true walking and running movements while filtering out non-walking activities.

There isn’t a manual calibration option for steps, but WHOOP recalibrates its metrics automatically every three weeks based on your recent data to improve accuracy over time. To help ensure the best accuracy:

  • Wear WHOOP securely on your wrist as described.

  • Keep your WHOOP app and device firmware up to date.

  • Monitor your step data over a few weeks to allow recalibration to adjust baselines.
