I’m noticing that my time in bed is almost 2 to 3 hours before what Whoop is recording it as. I get into bed consistently by 10pm, and my Time in Bed for my sleep is usually 12:30-1am. As such, it’s saying I am red or yellow almost every day and giving me garbage scores. However, this morning I edited the time in bed because it was so, so off and my score went from 29% to 84%.
Should I be editing these Time in Bed times? I went back to a few days where I was super red, and looked at the time in bed and it was so off!
Sometimes, WHOOP’s Time in Bed might not match the moment you actually got in bed. That’s because it’s based on your physiological signals—like heart rate, movement, and breathing—not just the clock. So if you notice a mismatch, don’t worry, you can manually adjust it in the app.
Here’s how to do it:
Open the WHOOP app.
Tap the + icon in the bottom right.
Choose Sleep and enter or adjust your sleep period.
Hit Save.
Updating your Time in Bed to reflect when you actually went to sleep can help improve the accuracy of your sleep and recovery scores, just like you noticed. And for the best results, make sure you’re wearing your band consistently and that it’s snug overnight so it can capture the most accurate signals.
