iOS Whoop Widget Fails To Update

I’ve noticed that my whoop widget on iOS (and the macOS widget that syncs to the updates from the connected phone) does not seem to consistently update and will most often show the ‘No Data’ field instead.

To my knowledge all of the conditions are normal:

  • Bluetooth Enabled.
  • Background App Refresh Enabled.
  • App always running.
  • Whoop device using newest firmware.
  • Device is paired and the phone has a constant internet connection through data or Wifi.

Things I have tried to fix the issue:

  • Removing and re-adding the widget to the home screen (both iOS and macOS).
  • Restarting the app.
  • Restarting the iOS device.
  • Uninstalling and re-installing the Whoop app.

I am hoping someone else has ran into this issue and has come across some kind of solution.

Relevant technical information:

  • Whoop Device: Whoop MG - Firmware Version 50.35.2.0
  • iOS Device: iPhone 16 - iOS Version 26.2

Mine seems to be ok but I am on a very old firmware, 50.34.0.6. I think I am being punished for being outspoken in the community :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

@AmazingGenius , thanks for reaching out! What you’re seeing with the iOS (and macOS-mirrored) WHOOP widget showing “No Data” is typically related to how iOS manages background refresh. The widget only updates after the WHOOP app has synced recently, and iOS can occasionally pause those background updates even when all settings are enabled 9this can be more noticeable on newer iOS versions).

A couple things that usually help refresh the widget:

  • Open the WHOOP app and allow it to fully sync, then return to your Home Screen and give the widget about 30–60 seconds to update.

  • Reboot your WHOOP device to reset the connection. To reboot your device, please navigate to Device Settings by selecting the device icon in your app. Then go to Advanced > Reboot Device.

It’s also worth noting that widgets aren’t real-time, and the macOS widget simply mirrors what’s coming from your iPhone. If the iOS widget shows “No Data,” the Mac widget will as well.

@AlanGooner I can assure you that is definitely not something we would do; I have appreciated your feedback and conversation thus far. Happy to look into this - Device Settings > Advanced > Firmware Check is not producing anything?
