Hey everyone, new to WHOOP, but quite happy so far and exited to try everything out.
Everything in the app seems very well thought out and I am fully committed to use it as an all-in-one platform for all my health/fitness needs, but the strength trainer seems a bit limited to me and I see that my concerns have not been submitted via the strength-trainer tag yet (even 2 years after release). For reference, I have been using Hevy for many years at this point.
- Having to switch to the app every time before and right after the set is burdensome. I fully understand why you require this step, but there are a couple of points that I’d like to mention.
- (P2) On Android (Samsung S23) the button in the push notification to start/stop the set does not work. Neither on the locked nor unlocked screen.
- (P4) The new Whoop 5.0 supports a physical double tapping of the device solely to stop an alarm, but it would be cool if it could be used to start/stop the set remotely.
- (P4) I have seen people here requesting a workout history where you can manually go back and edit the weights and reps, but it would also be cool to determine the period where you did the set on the stress monitor, too. I sometimes forget to start the tracking of a set entirely.
- The most crucial aspect of a strength tracking app is the ability to track past routines. I do not know anyone that follows the exact same workout routine, even if they might hit the same muscle group e.g. push, pull or legs.
- (P2) On Hevy I have a saved workout for each and then remove and add exercises as I need, but the strength trainer does not give me any of my last weights or rep counts if they were not in that workout beforehand.
- (P4) On Hevy I can even check the history of performance of that specific exercises in all previously tracked sessions, so I know if I just went down on weight for one session or if it was always my weight. But really the details of the last time I did the same exercise would at least make the strength trainer useable.
- (P4/5) Simply tracking if I hit a PB on an exercise (again, similarly as in Hevy) would be motivating and nice.
Again, love the app, will continue exploring and I understand that the strength trainer is rather a smaller feature, which has less priority. Though, development for the rest of the app seem so much more complex and difficult than a simple weight logging service and having the weight history for each exercise automatically be filled when I add it to a workout is a core and the main functionality of why I am using an app like Hevy.
