Hi WHOOP team,
I’d love to see WHOOP become a complete tool for runners. Right now, many of us wear a second device for runs and WHOOP for recovery. A few additions would close that gap, and most of the groundwork (phone GPS, Strava integration, haptics) already exists.
1. Post-run analysis
- Per-km (or per-mile) splits showing pace, average HR, HR zone, and elevation change
- A split/lap table with fastest and slowest splits highlighted
- A pace and heart rate graph over the run, overlaid so we can spot cardiac drift
2. Run planning
- Set a target pace, pace range, or HR zone before starting
- Structured workouts: intervals, tempo runs, progression runs (e.g. 5 × 1 km at 4:30/km with 90s recovery)
- WHOOP AI suggesting the day’s run based on Recovery, something no other platform does natively
3. Haptic pacing during the run
- Distinct vibration patterns at each split: one for too fast, two for too slow, a long pulse for on target
- Buzz cues for the start and end of each interval
Why this fits WHOOP: the band has no screen, but haptics make real-time guidance possible without one. Combined with Recovery and Strain data, WHOOP could tell runners not just how hard to train, but guide them through the run itself.
Since GPS comes from the phone, smoothing for pace accuracy (or footpod support) would make this even more reliable.
Would love to hear if others want this too. Upvote if you’d use it!
