Add Custom Activity Option

Hi Whoop Team

Right now, anything that isn’t on the official list gets lumped into a single catch-all activity called “Other.” As the community keeps requesting additions like boxing, climbing, bouldering, Les Mills classes, and more, it feels like that bucket is getting crowded!

Proposal

Add a universal “Custom Activity” feature:

  1. Pick a Baseline
Select an existing template (e.g., Functional Fitness, HIIT, Running) so strain and recovery calculations stay reliable.

  2. Rename It
Enter any label - “Bouldering Session,” “Boxing Sparring,” “Les Mills Grit,” “Virtual Row,” etc.

  3. Save for Reuse
The custom name appears in the activity list alongside Whoop’s defaults, ready for one-tap logging next time.

Why This Matters

  • Accuracy & Consistency - Logging the same workout name every time gives cleaner trends and more meaningful insights.

  • Inclusivity - Covers niche sports and branded classes without requiring one-off partnerships.

  • Simplicity - One enhancement resolves countless “please add my sport” threads and keeps the activity menu tidy.

Replacing that lone “Other” option with flexible custom activities would be a huge win for data quality and user experience.

Hi @Arno_Seidl,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. It’s a great idea to allow users to add custom activities. Your feedback helps inform our product roadmap, and I’ll pass this to the product team.

Would be a fantastic feature

Hi @liv0,

It just came to mind that the “template” function already exists for strength exercises, as shown in the screenshot. It might be worth considering extending this functionality to other types of activities, not just strength training.

Best regards,
Arno
