Activity Calories - Completely Off

Hi all,

I am and have been having serious problems with my calorie calculations from activities on my whoop 4.0. I have been wearing it for almost a year all day and even during sleep, but when I log activities, it massively underestimates calories expanded. To break it down;

36 year old male/5’10”/175lbs.

Hike 1:
Distance 7.8kms
Elevation: 419
Duration: 2+ hours
Calories: 204

Hike 2:
Distance 3.5km
Elevation 1917m (completely off, it was a few hundred meters max)
Duration: 1hour 10 mins
Calories: 250

Walk:
Distance: 6.6kms
Elevation gain: 252m
Duration: 1.5hours
Calories: 140

I had entered these numbers into estimators, and the calorie expansion should be 10 times higher for these exercises, and these are just three examples… it is almost always this off.

To answer a few questions;
-I had already received a new device for a different issue, so its not the device.
-I entered all my information correctly and I double checked
-I wear this thing non stop so it can’t still be calibrating

What could the problem be? Is it something that I didn’t enter correctly or just the whoop is this inaccurate? My renewal is coming up but I cannot keep wearing a device that is this inaccurate.

I have added the screenshot below, for some reason I can only post one. Thanks for all your input in advance!

@alexpetryk Whoop is calculating the calories burned based on your HR elevation.

I have days with a step count of 15k, several activities and Whoop gives me a total of 1500 calories at the end of the day which is below my BMR.

My heart rate is just not raising enough during normal activities (this includes biking, walking and hiking) so I have accepted that this data is useless.
