A few Apple Health improvements I could see

Hey team !

Thanks again for this open forum so we can share our ideas and needs.

While I really appreciate the care that’s been put into the App UI, I am convinced that the Apple Health integration is worth paying attention to.

  • While I really appreciate the ability to fetch workouts from AH (I use a Garmin Watch / Bike Computer for my outdoor trainings), I would recommend that an imported AH activity is not exported to AH as it creates duplicates.
  • Of course, a Whoop initiated workout should remain synced to AH
  • Whoop activities with map data should be exported with the Activity Course included (it’s a specific new right to ask for). Also, please export relevant data, not just time, HR, and energy burned. Typically, a run or walk should be exported with the total distance and pace (I’ve only tested Walk from Whoop so far).
  • Sleep export is for some reason also not exporting sleep stages (only asleep, awake, no deep, REM stages).
  • Steps are exported only daily; it should be exported at least hourly IMHO, if not more often. This way, you can see in the Health app as well your progress compared to an average day.

That’s my initial feedback for the moment

Again, thanks for reading.

Hi WHOOP team,

I just wanted to echo what Jérôme mentioned above – I completely agree.

It really doesn’t make sense that WHOOP takes workouts imported from Apple Health and then writes them back into Apple Health, effectively creating duplicates. This is especially problematic for users like me who use other devices (like a Garmin watch or bike computer) and rely on WHOOP only as a secondary source for health data.

Imported workouts from Apple Health should be read-only and not exported again.

Only workouts that WHOOP detects or initiates itself should be synced to Apple Health.

This would greatly improve the user experience and data accuracy – especially for those of us trying to maintain clean and consistent training logs across platforms.

Thanks for listening and for continuing to improve the integration!

Best regards,

Daniel

Tracking my step count is also hard as Apple Health accurately records my steps, then at the end of the day Whoop dumps it’s version of my step count and I get a doubling of data.
